If you need to see a clinician on the same day we operate a triage system ensuring those needing to see a doctor or nurse are able to do so as quickly as possible. Our system runs as follows.
Please phone our main number (023) 9282 7132 during normal hours (see the Appointments Page). When you contact the Surgery, your details are taken and a clinician will initially telephone you and see you later the same day if appropriate. If the doctor is available and where clinically appropriate the receptionist may transfer your call to a doctor. However we will not normally interrupt a doctor during a consultation as this is unfair on the patient they are currently attending.
The Surgery runs an appointment system. To make an appointment please contact the surgery on (023) 9282 7132. This number is manned during normal surgery hours only (see the Appointments Page).
For patients with internet access we have launched a scheme enabling you to book GP appointments on line called "SystmOnline". The application form can be launched from the link below, please complete the form and post it or hand it in at reception. For security reasons there will be additional forms requiring your signature and you will need to attend the Surgery to collect your "PIN" needed to use this service. This service can also be used to cancel an appointment or to request repeat medication.
Please phone the main number 023 9282 7132 during normal working hours.
Urgent home visits should be treated in the same fashion as any other medical emergency. Consider dialling 999 and speaking to the Ambulance Service. For a routine home visit please telephone before 10:00 on (023) 9282 7132 to book a home visit.
Please allow two working days to process repeat prescription requests. This means you can normally collect them as follows:
|Day request received||Prescription ready for collection|
Requests for repeat medication must be submitted in written format. To simplify this basic necessity we have several options meaning that you do not have to personally deliver the request.
Firstly you can post the request. If you would like the prescription posted back to you, you will need to enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope.
For patients with internet access the "EMIS ACCESS" system for booking appointments also has a system to make your request electronically. Please click on the link below to apply or, on your next visit, ask a receptionist for more details.
Alternatively you can speak to your local pharmacy to see if they operate a system whereby they bring the requests to us on your behalf.
Finally for those wanting an alternative system whereby your medication is sent direct by post, we have a scheme run by "Pharmacy 2 U". This system requires either telephone or internet access to operate. Please click on the link below or speak to a receptionist on your next visit for more information.
If you have any concerns about your medication please contact us on our main number (023) 9282 7132 during normal hours (see the Appointments Page) and ask to speak to the triage doctor. This will normally mean a doctor will telephone you back later in the day, so please ensure you are near to your telephone.
For all urgent needs to speak to a doctor or nurse, please use the triage system - click on this link to see how this system operates.
If you want to speak to a specific clinician, please contact our main number (023) 9282 7132 during normal house (see the Appointments Page) and speak to a receptionist. We have some allocated appointments for this purpose which are normally available up to two weeks ahead. Please remember these are telephone appointments so the clinician will not be personally expecting you. While we give times for these conversations, these are approximate and will change of necessity - for example if the doctor is running late.
