Appointments with Doctors and Nursing Staffs: 023 9282 7132

If you need to be seen by a Doctor or member of our Nursing Team, you can book, change or cancel an appointment if you are using online access (& get repeat prescriptions for your current medications), our main surgery number using the automated appointments system (available 24/7) or by speaking to one of our staff on the telephone or in person. Please note that Nurse appointments are not currently available to book online.

Our appointments are all pre-bookable with a proportion available to book up to 4 weeks in advance and the remainder embargoed until midnight the evening before and some of the daily afternoon appointments being made available in the morning of that same day, to ensure a range of appointments to meet your needs.

We also have a Duty Doctor who is available during our working hours, for when you think your urgent clinical condition requires a Doctor that day.

Home Visits
A home visit can be arranged on the main number if an illness prevents a patient from attending the surgery or the patient is housebound. Home visits are generally scheduled after their morning surgery. The receptionist will take some details and a contact telephone number if necessary so the doctor can prioritise the visit.

Test Results
Please contact the surgery on the main number for all test results after 2pm.
Without prior written authorisation results will only be disclosed to the patient, unless a minor.

If you need to cancel an appointment please let us know as soon as possible.
If you fail to give advance notification of a cancellation the appointment will be marked as “did not attend”. Three consecutive “did not attends” could result in removal from our practice list.

EMIS Access
Register your details in writing or use the form available from reception.
This service via the internet allows repeat prescription requests, also appointments may be made or cancelled online.

EMERGENCY LINE 023 9282 7132

Please be considerate and only use this number if you need to contact a doctor urgently. Alternatively dial 999 or contact NHS Direct on 0845 46 47.

HOME VISITS 023 9282 7132

A home visit can be arranged if an illness prevents a patient getting to the surgery. There are no set times for these visits - they are normally made in the morning or lunch time. They may be graded as to priority or severity and therefore the receptionist will need to take some details of your symptoms; a doctor may telephone prior to making the visit so please be ready to receive such a call.

TEST RESULTS 023 9282 7132

There are several ways to request your repeat prescription:

  • Register for “EMIS Access” (Egton Medical Information Systems) which is a service that offers repeat prescription requests to be arranged over the internet. These requests are then made ready for collection within the timescales above. EMIS Access can also be used to make and/or cancel appointments
  • Register for “Pharmacy2U” which is an alternative service offering repeat prescriptions (only) over the internet or by phone. This service then arranges for your medication to be delivered to your address.
  • Your local Pharmacy may be able to arrange requests and delivery of your medication on your behalf when prior arrangements have been made with them.
  • By post - you can send in your request slip to us with the items ticked that you require. If you wish to have the prescription posted back to you, please enclose a stamped, addressed envelope and allow time for the postal service in addition to our timescales above.

  • Hand deliver you request into either our external letter box or into the repeat medications box inside the surgery. Both boxes are emptied regularly.

If for any reason you have to cancel an appointment please let us know. This is important as it allows another patient to make use of a very valuable appointment slot. You can do this either by:

Coming into the surgery in person to cancel and/or rebook. Telephone during surgery hours and speaking to a Receptionist Leave a message on our answerphone service which is available throughout the day or night.

For private correspondence and medicals (PMA) the fees have been changed recently. If you require anything to be done please ask the Receptionist how much the cost will be so that you are aware of this before the doctor completes any correspondence for you.

When you complete any claim form, solicitor enquiry, insurance proposal or similar, the paperwork provides an option to view the report before it is issued, a right under the Medical Records Act. When you ask for this option we will contact you upon completion of the paperwork to advise you it is ready for viewing. If you have not viewed the paperwork within the statutory 45 days we will forward it to the enquirer without further delay.
